Dr. Ann Dey, Program Development Administrator

Profile

Ann Dey holds a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has worked in the field of HIV/AIDS services since 1993. Her areas of research interests in the field of Public Health and HIV/AIDS include:

  • Program Development
  • Program Evaluation
  • Community Based Needs Assessment

Statewide Technical Assistance

For the past eight years, Dey has coordinated the HIV Prevention CPSDI team in providing the following types of technical assistance for Division of HIV/AIDS Services (DHAS) grantees:

  • program development
  • program evaluation
  • quality assurance planning
  • needs assessment (including conducting focus groups)

Statewide Training

Dey serves as the lead trainer of the Healthy Relationships curriculum (from CDC's EBI courses). She also provides training in Effective Facilitation Skills for DHAS and serves as an evaluator of "teach backs" for the SISTA EBI curriculum for the state.


Lead Evaluator Position on National Grants

Dey has served as the Lead Evaluator and Ethnographer for many research projects for national funders including:

  • CDC and the State of Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of Immunization
  • Community Coalition Partnership Program for the Prevention of Teen Pregnancy Grant funded by the CDC
  • Office of Minority Health for Technical Assistance and Capacity Development Demonstration Grant Program
  • National AIDS Fund and Johnson and Johnson: Generations Program: Strengthening Women and Families Affected by HIV/AIDS
  • Ethnographic Studies of Newark for Surveillance of HIV Risk and Prevention Behaviors of Men Who Have Sex with Men, Heterosexual Women and Injection Drug Users for CDC
